FUNERAL HOMES PAST AND PRESENT:

A brief history of some of the funeral homes in Ft. Payne.  Early 1900s Pierce Funeral Home was in service, they sold to Farmer; Farmer's Funeral Home sold to Wilson.  Wilson' Funeral Home was in business from 1957 to about the 1980s, near the last, it was owned by Wilson & Burt.  Wilson sold out to Burt and today, we have Burt Funeral Home.  Wilson took some time off  and built a new facility further north, known as Wilson Funeral Home and in operation today.

* This data is from living during the times and from interviews with people in the business.
